Food Voucher
Scheme
Launched in January 2023, the EH Smith Charitable Trust Food Voucher Scheme is designed to support those who are struggling with the rising cost of living in communities close to our locations.
We aim to support those who are struggling with the rising cost of living by providing individuals and families with supermarket gift cards.
Applications must be made by a professional or organisation working with the individual or household, such as: Citizens Advice, social workers, NHS Professionals, teachers and charity or not-for-profit debt support advisors.
The supermarket gift cards are limited to one per household.
There is a pre-set amount of funds allocated per year, once funds are exhausted the voucher scheme will be paused until the following years funding is received.
Our food voucher scheme is open to households that are within a set radius of EH Smith locations.
To check whether you are within this radius, type in your full postcode into the search function below.
The referring professional will need to confirm that they have assessed the household they are applying on behalf of. We will require proof of address, dated within the last three months, such as bank statements, council tax bills or utility bills.
The referring professional can request an application form which will be sent directly to them for completion on the applicant’s behalf. At this point we will need proof of address which can be attached to the form.
Once a form has been submitted, we will endeavour to review it and reply within 4 to 6 weeks. If successful, vouchers will be sent directly to the applicant as soon as possible.
Within the application you will be able to choose from the following supermarkets:
Recipients are unable to reapply within 12 months. Vouchers cannot be used for
purchasing alcohol, tobacco or any form of gambling and lottery.
